Daniela Palade
Daniela is a journalist, trainer, personal and career development counselor, opinion leader, social activist, co-author of oral history books, editorial director at a PR, personal communication and branding agency (TUDOR Communication), coordinator of the platform www.feminismforreal.com, Ambassador for the Diversity Charter. She is also a member of the Competitiveness Association (INACO) and co-author of the Guide to Future Jobs, a useful educational tool for students, teachers, parents, but also managers or entrepreneurs. For 20 years she was editor-in-chief of the first glossy magazine for women in Romania, Avantaje, and for two years editor-in-chief of CARIERE Magazine, the only leadership and entrepreneurial culture publication in Romania.
What does she like about her profession? That it’s like a kaleidoscope with dozens of facets. She can be separated or simultaneously journalist, trainer, counselor, writer, opinion leader, social activist, PR and communication advisor, connector, (co)organizer and moderator of events, community aggregator and other facets. The red thread of this route has always been doing things differently, against the current. When all the glossy magazines had stars on the cover, she chose to promote instead ordinary women with unusual stories, credible, authentic, anonymous heroines. She did it for 20 years in Avantaje Magazine. Then she migrated from “the business of story” to “the story of business” and relaunched CARIERE Magazine, a publication of leadership and entrepreneurial culture. She published issues about leadership and self-leadership, about organizational culture, about the education needed for the economy of the future, but also addressed for the first time bold and sensitive topics – the crisis of middle age, mid career crisis, health and inner balance under the pressure of socio-professional taboos, diversity and inclusion, transformation skills of people with disabilities, parenting in times of crisis. She has moderated events, conferences and workshops on these topics. She organized 16 editions of the Woman of the Year Gala and two editions of CARIERE Magazine.
In the meantime, she contributed to the publication of books of oral histories with bold and daring topics for Romania – the first testimonial of domestic violence, the first testimonial of female migration, the first book about the civic strength of women or about the experiences of mothers at their first childbirth. She has often addressed topics related to womanism, female entrepreneurship, female leadership, feminism, public policies for empowering women in their professional and personal lives.
She now coordinates the feminismforreal.com platform, a leadership hub from which women get inspiration, motivation, and men find reasons to recommend it to their daughters and life and work partners. She also gives other women examples of good practice, tools to help them evolve professionally and personally, authentic and credible models of feminism that changed the world for better. She believes in quality networking and enjoys working with professionals who do things by vocation, passion and consciousness, with responsibility and appetite for innovation and dynamism. Se believes in social responsibility, compassion and charity, in genuine goodness, the one that makes humanity resists, in the most challenging times. The good generates good and it is up to each of us to make this good go viral.
Her source of inspiration and energy? He is single parent of two teenage children and a promoter of what quality education means, thinking “out of the box”, the jobs of the future, aligning the Romanian school with the skills required by the economy of the future, breaking stereotypes and anachronism of the education system.
